Chris Evans’ Lightyear has received Tim Allen’s reaction, and he wishes the movie had a “better connection” to his hype
Tim Allen, the iconic voice of Buzz Lightyear, has something to say about Chris Evans’ depiction of the eponymous character in Disney Pixar’s latest movie, “Lightyear.”
Allen, who originally provided the voice of Buzz in the “Toy Story” series, discussed the film in a new interview with “Extra,” saying that Evans’ Buzz “doesn’t seem to have any resemblance” to his interpretation of the character.
“Lightyear” is “the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy,” as per Pixar.
The film’s Twitter account explained the plot in a single post earlier this month, stating that Andy’s new favorite toy was based on a fictional character from a sci-fi action movie.
The account wrote, “In 1995, Andy got a toy from his favorite movie… …this is that movie.”
In an interview with “Extra,” Allen explained that he had held off on making a statement on the movie because he felt “Lightyear” “had nothing to do” with his depiction of the role.
“This is a whole new team that really had nothing to do with the first movies,” he said, adding that he initially thought “Lightyear” was going to be a “live-action” film with “real humans.”
Allen continued by highlighting his apparent problems with the most recent release.
