Digital University Initiative by the government of India to provide doorstep education

In its Budget for the years 2022-2023, the Indian government promised the creation of a Digital University. Students from all around the country will have access to a world-class universal education with a customised learning experience right at their doorstep thanks to the University. This will be offered in a variety of Indian languages as well as ICT formats. The University will be developed on a hub-and-spoke network, with the hub developing cutting-edge ICT capabilities. As a network of hub-spokes, the country’s leading public universities and institutes will collaborate. The Department of Higher Education has begun the process to assure the early commencement of this digital university in consultation with the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and other stakeholders.

Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State for Education, provided the information in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha today.
