Tata and Intel Officially Announces Their Strategic Alliance: Aims Silicon and Systems Manufacturing and Packaging, and Also AI Compute Market Development

Tata Group and Intel Corporation as part of a strategic alliance have joined hands together. With this collaboration, both the brands are aiming at working together for silicon and systems manufacturing and packaging, and also for the AI compute market development.

Here’s more about the update.

Tata x Intel Strategic Alliance Officially Announced

On the 8th of December 2025 (Monday), Tata and Intel representatives together signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding), announcing the strategic alliance of the two brands to establish a silicon and compute ecosystem within India. Additionally, it also marks a significant step for India in developing a geo-resilient electronics and semiconductor supply chain inside the country.

Speaking more, both Tata and Intel are planning to locally manufacture as well as pack Intel products at the Fab and OSAT (Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test) facilities of Tata Electronics as part of the signed MoU, assuring advanced packaging. Also, the brands will be exploring opportunities in order to rapidly scale the tailored AI PC solutions for India’s consumer and enterprise markets (projected to become the top five globally by 2030). Intel’s AI compute reference designs, Tata Electronics’ industry-leading Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), and the broad market access via other Tata Group of companies will all be leveraged.

“Intel’s technology has driven decades of advancement in computing, and as we continue to innovate, our ambition is to broaden our reach, accelerate growth, and deliver even greater value to our customers. We see this as a tremendous opportunity to collaborate with Tata to rapidly scale in one of the world’s fastest-growing compute markets, fueled by rising PC demand and rapid AI adoption across India,” said Lip-Bu Tan (CEO of Intel Corporation).

Dr Randhir Thakur (CEO & Managing Director of Tata Electronics) also noted that, “This MoU aligns with Tata Electronics’ roadmap across EMS, OSAT, and Semiconductor Fab, enabling a reliable and resilient supply chain for our customers. This collaboration would drive cost competitiveness, faster time-to-market, greater operational agility, and enable Intel products to capture the surging demand for next-generation AI compute in India.”
