India partners with Alibaba.com for Alibaba.com Global Export Enablement Challenge

India-China relations have been on a rough patch over the past few years. Back in 2020, the Indian government banned various Chinese apps in India and then later in 2022, some more apps were added to the banned list. Amid those ongoing restrictions, India has now partnered with China’s Alibaba.com for the Alibaba.com Global Export Enablement Challenge.

As part of this initiative, Alibaba.com is looking for “Digital Growth Partners”, visionary startups that are ready to digitise, onboard and scale Indian exporters on Alibaba.com while unlocking lucrative commission models.
The company is looking for startups in Export-Tech & B2B E-commerce, Cross-border Fintech & Payments, Logistics SaaS & Freight Aggregation and Digital Marketing & Automation. The 5 winning startups will receive official Alibaba.com channel partner recognition, high revenue generation opportunity and comprehensive support from Alibaba’s expert team.
According to a statement by Rocky Lu, head of India business at Alibaba.com (via TechCrunch), “ Alibaba.com has been active in India for over two decades, and we remain dedicated to our core mission of empowering MSMEs to scale their businesses globally. Our focus continues to be on leveraging our digital infrastructure to help ‘Made in India’ products reach an international audience through digital transformation.”
This program will bridge the gap between the Indian manufacturers, wholesalers, traders and exporters with Alibaba.com.
