Skoda has issued a recall for three models- Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia, and as per reports total of 860 units are affected. While for VW, two models are recalled- Virtus and Taigun and the company has recalled 961 units.

For VW, it is found that the left and right side rear seat belt metal bases could crack in the affected Volkswagen models. Also, there are chances that an incorrect part could have been installed in the front and rear seat belts. Skoda models are also said to be affected by a similar seatbelt issue.

If you own a car from above mentioned models and are wondering whether your car is included in the recall or not, here’s how you can check.

How to check whether your VW/Skoda car is included in the recall?

The procedure is easy. For the Skoda model, go to the dedicated page on the Skoda website, enter your car’s VIN code, which is a combination of 17 characters, i.e., letters and numbers, in the search box. VIN code is also stamped on the car body, on a plate under the windscreen in the lower left and mentioned in the vehicle’s registration certificate. By pressing the Search button, you can simply check whether any relevant recall is pending for your vehicle.

You can also check the VIN number through your Skoda app. As seen in the above screenshot, under the vehicle name, you will find Factory Name, and next to that, there will be an alpha number code that is the VIN.

Similarly, for the Volkswagen model, go to the dedicated page on the Volkswagen India official website and enter your car’s VIN to check whether your car model is included in the recall. You can also contact your authorized dealerships.
