New-Generation Tata Sierra launched officially in India; Bookings open from 16th December

Tata Motors has introduced its Sierra 5-door SUV in the Indian market. This SUV boasts various first-in-segment features along with a classic design.

Tata Sierra: Features

The SUV features a boxy silhouette, a high-set bonnet, squarish wheel arches, a thick B-pillar, and a kink in the window line that resembles the 1991 Tata Sierra. The company has also tried to mimic the curved rear glass, while the spare wheel is now tucked under the floor. The gloss-black cladding is used all around the body. Other features include- LED light bars, vertically stacked LED highlights, flush-type door handles with illumination, 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, and a powered tailgate. It offers 622L boot space (1,257L with rear seats folded).

Coming to the interior design, the SUV features a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch passenger screen with wireless headphones, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There is a head-up display, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, a dashboard-mounted sound bar, Dolby Atmos surround sound technology, Dolby Atmos surround sound, ventilated seats at the front, dual-zone AC, and a wireless phone charger.

A few of the features vary by the Sierra variant- panoramic sunroof, Boss mode for the front passenger seat, AC vents, twin 65W USB-C charging points at the back, rear sunshades, and 2-step recline for the seats.

For safety, it is equipped with 6 airbags, ISOFIX seat anchors, electronic parking brake, all-wheel disc brakes, 360-degree camera setup, front parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and Level 2+ADAS suite.

The new-generation Tata Sierra is offered with the automaker’s new 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol producing 160hp and 255Nm, with a 6-speed AT. There is also a 1.5-litre NA petrol that produces 106hp and 145Nm, with either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DCA. For diesel users, there is a 1.5-litre unit producing 116hp and 260/280Nm, with either a 6-speed MT or AT option.

The automaker will also be offering an AWD variant for this SUV later.

Tata Sierra: Availability

The new-generation Tata Sierra comes in Coorg Clouds, Pristine White, Pure Grey, Andaman Adventure, Munnar Mist, and Bengal Rouge colour options. It arrives at a starting price of Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The bookings will open on 16th December, and deliveries will begin on 15th January. It will be sold in Smart+, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Adventure+, Accomplished and Accomplished+ trims.“
