Kia Introduces New Diesel Automatic And Turbo-Petrol DCT Variants Of The Sonet

Kia has announced new entry-level automatic variants (diesel automatic and turbo-petrol dual-clutch) for its sub-four-meter compact SUV, the “Sonet”. Along with this, a new colour option has also been introduced in India.

The diesel automatic is now available from the HTE(O) variant, priced at ₹9,77,900 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is now available in the HTK(O) variant priced at ₹9,89,900 (ex-showroom). According to Kia, this makes the Sonet the first SUV in its segment to offer both a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic below ₹10 lakh.

With the Model Year 26 (MY26), Kia has also expanded the availability of the diesel automatic powertrain across more trims. The 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission is now available in HTE(O), HTK(O), HTK+, and HTK+(O) variants. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is available in HTK(O) and HTK+(O) trims.

Engine specifications remain unchanged, as the 1.0 litre turbo-petrol option still offers 118 BHP and 170 Nm torque, while the 1.5 litre diesel offers the same power at 114 BHP and 250 Nm torque.

Furthermore, Kia has also introduced a new Magma Red exterior colour option.
