Hyundai India Announces the Arrival of its Luxury Brand Genesis in 2027: India-Made Genesis Model Also Coming

The South Korean automaker – Hyundai has confirmed that its Genesis luxury brand will be arriving in the Indian market. It was officially announced at the recently-held Hyundai Motor India Investor Day 2025 event.

Hyundai’s Genesis Luxury Brand Coming to India in 2027

At Hyundai’s FY 2024 ~ 25 annual report, the brand’s Managing Director and the Designated Chief Executive Officer for India – Tarun Garg had revealed that in order to meet the changing needs of Indian consumers, the South Korean automaker is planning to introduce its Genesis brand in the country and following which, it has been officially announced at Hyundai Motor India Investor Day 2025 event held today (15th October 2025) in Mumbai, India.

As per what has been revealed, it is set to come to the Indian market in 2027, and will take on other luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi. To increase competition with regards to pricing and supply chain, within the next two years, the brand is also preparing to bring out an India-made Genesis model too. This strategic move will help the brand to avoid import charges. Furthermore, this move also reveals how the brand sees India as a potential market.

Speaking more, the upcoming Genesis cars will be among the 26 new vehicles that Hyundai is going to bring for Indian customers by FY 2030. Reportedly, 6 EV and 20 ICE models are expected to hit the Indian market over the coming four years. Notably, the arrival of Genesis in India is also considered to be a well-timed strategy as in FY 2025, the luxury car sale of the country had hit 51,000 units.
