Huawei Maextro S800 Sedan Becomes the Top-Selling USD 100,000 Car in China: Now Outselling Porsche Panamera, Mercedes Benz S-Class, and More

Huawei’s luxury Maextro S800 sedan has topped the sales chart in China, by outselling almost all of its competitors in the USD 100,000 price category. The sedan is gaining more popularity across the region, while foreign auto-makers continue to lose their market share.

Huawei Maextro S800 Sedan – Outsells Porsche Panamera, Mercedes Benz S-Class, and More in China

Huawei had introduced its Maextro S800 sedan back in May 2025 by collaborating with the Chinese automaker – Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp, and while this auto-brand makes the vehicle at its factory situated in Hefei, Huawei provides it with high-end technologies. This year in September 2025, the Huawei Maextro S800 sedan outnumbered the sales of its competitors, and last month in November 2025, as per the data from ECC Intelligence, its number of units that were sold is far greater than those of Porsche Panamera and BMW 7 series combined.

While the Huawei Maextro S800 sedan was introduced as a direct competitor for the Mercedes-Maybach, and positioned as one among the strong competitors in the USD 100,000 price range with vehicles from BMW and Audi, it is claimed to offer a ride experience similar to that on a Rolls Royce or Bentley – but only at a fraction of their price. This itself drew the attention of Chinese buyers towards Huawei’s Maextro S800, and foreign automakers as pointed out above started losing sales.

To note, in terms of pricing too, Huawei Maextro S800 has an upper hand as its starts at CNY 708,000 and goes all the way up to CNY 1.02 million for the top-end model, whereas the Porsche Panamera is priced from CNY 1.1 million in China. Features like the triple-screen dashboard, 40″ movie projector, starry headliner, crystal-made seat adjusters, 30+ sensors, and automatic doors have also contributed in gaining the interests of Chinese buyers.

Similarly, Huawei’s Aito M9 has already achieved the position of the best-selling luxury vehicle in the CNY 500,000 price range, that too within half a year following its 2023-launch.
