Ford and Xiaomi officially deny reports of forming a joint venture to manufacture EVs in the US

A few days back, the Financial Times reported that Ford held talks with China’s manufacturer Xiaomi in order to form a joint venture to manufacture EVs in the US market. And as per the report, this information was revealed by people familiar with the matter.

Well, Ford’s Chief Communication Officer, Mark Turby, has completely denied this report, calling it false via the X platform.

While Xiaomi has also officially denied this report, mentioning that the company does not sell its products and services in the United States and is not negotiating with any companies to do so.

The policy environment in the US has become increasingly restrictive towards Chinese automotive products and technologies, while the US has also maintained restrictions on Chinese software and hardware used in connected devices. Amid these ongoing restrictive policies, the report regarding Ford and Xiaomi forming a joint venture to manufacture EVs in the US market created a lot of buzz online.

But now, after both companies officially denying such a report confirms that there is no joint venture negotiation currently going on.
