The leading American AI startup firm – Anthropic has now expanded Auto mode on Claude Code with more added capabilities. Support for the Pro plan and Claude Sonnet 4.6 has been brought as part of it.

Claude Code Auto Mode Expanded With Pro Plan and Claude Sonnet 4.6 Support

The Auto mode that is among the features on Claude Code is now available for Pro plan users. Earlier, the feature had limited availability, but with this new update, Pro plan users will also be able to access Auto mode and let Claude continue working on given tasks with fewer interruptions.

Speaking more about the second update, Anthropic has also added support for Claude Sonnet 4.6 in Auto mode. It is now supported alongside Claude Opus 4.7, giving users one more model option while using this feature on Claude Code. Notably, Auto mode is only available on the Anthropic API, and is not available on Bedrock, Vertex, or Foundry.

As already known, Auto mode is what lets Claude continue executing tasks with fewer permission prompts. Users can enable Auto mode in Claude Code by pressing Shift + Tab, after which Claude will be able to continue working on the given task with fewer stops. Anthropic has also advised users to run the claude update command or update the Claude desktop app to the latest version in order to access these new updates.

Coming to its availability, Auto mode is available for supported accounts, while Team and Enterprise users will need admin approval before they can turn it on. Admins can enable it from Claude Code admin settings, while they can also lock it off by setting permissions.disableAutoMode to “disable” in managed settings.

If Claude Code shows Auto mode as unavailable, it means one of the required conditions has not been met, and it is not a temporary outage. However, if a message says that Auto mode “cannot determine the safety” of an action for a particular model, then it is a temporary classifier outage.

In the wake of the rising number of online and financial scams targeting senior citizens in India, HDFC Bank has now introduced a new “Double OTP System” feature. Via a post shared by Haryana Police’s official X handle, this latest initiative has now been announced.

Notably, this new feature is currently being introduced as a pilot program for HDFC Bank account holders aged 60 years and above in the Gurugram and Panchkula areas. With this latest feature, senior citizens will now be able to add a second trusted phone number, which could belong to a family member as well.

Coming to how this feature works, earlier only the account holder used to receive the OTP on their registered device. However, with this new Double OTP System, both the registered device and the added trusted number will receive the OTP during an online transaction. The transaction would only be successful if both OTPs are entered.

This would play a crucial role in preventing cyber fraud cases targeting senior citizens, while also adding an extra layer of security during online transactions. As stated above, those eligible and interested in registering for this feature may contact their respective HDFC Bank branch for the same.

Last month, it was reported that WhatsApp had released a new beta update for Android users that includes a feature that gives users more control over disappearing messages, as users can make their messages disappear once the recipient reads them.

According to a report by @WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is releasing the iOS 26.19.10.72 update for beta testers on iOS, available on the TestFlight app. With this update, the company is said to be rolling out a feature that makes new messages disappear after they are read.

Previously disappearing messages allow users to send messages that WhatsApp automatically deletes after a set period of time. Users could choose between three timer options: 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days.

With the new update, users will get the new “After reading” option as seen in the above image. When users choose this option, they can opt to make their messages disappear once they’re read. They can choose whether their messages disappear 5 minutes, 1 hour, or 12 hours after the recipient reads them. Although unread messages always disappear after 24 hours by default.

For example, if you send a message and set it to disappear after reading with a 5-minute timer, the message will be deleted from the sender’s side 5 minutes after it is sent (does not matter if the receiver has opened the message or not). Meanwhile, once the receiver views the message, a 5-minute countdown starts on their device, and then after 5 minutes, the message is deleted.

The “After reading” option should be selected manually by the users. It is reported that the new timer can also be applied on a per-chat basis.

This new feature is available to some beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS update from TestFlight. A limited number of users may also be able to test the feature even through the version available on the App Store.

It is said that over the coming weeks, WhatsApp will expand access to more users.

Now, almost three months later, OpenAI has also joined the Cybersecurity race and announced its own security-focused tool called Daybreak.

OpenAI Announces New Security Tool Called Daybreak

As per what has been shared by OpenAI, Daybreak is not just designed to find bugs or vulnerabilities in older systems, but rather uses AI to assist developers by continuously identifying risks and vulnerabilities during development.

Speaking more about this tool, with the help of OpenAI’s Codex, it can detect subtle vulnerabilities that human developers may miss. Also, instead of just identifying issues, it can suggest fixes and later validate whether the fixes actually work or not. Additionally, it is also capable of analysing complex and unfamiliar codebases. While these same capabilities could also potentially be misused by bad actors, OpenAI says that Daybreak comes with expanded defensive capabilities involving trust, verification, proportional safeguards, and accountability.

Regarding availability, the company has stated that it is currently working with both industry and government partners as part of its iterative deployment approach for increasingly more cyber-capable AI models.

OpenAI has now announced the availability of ChatGPT as a plugin for Excel and Google Sheets. Meanwhile, the American AI startup brand – Anthropic has also announced Claude’s availability for Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

ChatGPT for Excel and Google Sheets

Powered by GPT-5.5, ChatGPT’s latest AI model, the new plugin allows users to work directly in Excel or Google Sheets without switching between apps. This can be installed on Excel by heading to the Home tab and looking for the Add-ins option. From there, users will be able to see the ChatGPT icon, select it, and sign in with their OpenAI account.

A slightly different approach is available for Google Spreadsheet users. In this, once the spreadsheet is opened, users will have to head to Extensions → Add-ons → Get Add-ons, and then search for ChatGPT. After installation, users can sign in with their OpenAI account. Also, users who prefer manual installation can separately download the plugin for both Excel and Google Spreadsheet platforms. As per the details shared, the add-on supports Excel 2016 or later on Mac, Excel 2013 or later on Windows, and Excel on the web too.

Regarding availability, it has been made available globally and supports users subscribed to ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, Edu, Teachers, and K-12 plans, as well as ChatGPT Free, Go, Pro, and Plus users.

Claude for Microsoft 365

Just as mentioned above, users will have to head to the Home tab in either Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or Outlook, and from there look for the Add-ins option and search for Claude. After adding it, users will have to sign in with their Anthropic account. As per the details shared, this is available for all paid plans, including Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise.

Speaking more about availability, Claude for Microsoft 365 is available via Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry.

The interesting part is that both can run at the same time, giving users more flexibility. During testing on Excel, both windows reportedly opened and functioned without any issues.

Amazon has officially announced the integration of Amazon MX Player with Prime Video in the Indian market. This latest move will create one of the biggest streaming platforms in the country, combining both premium and free video contents under a single platform.

As per the details shared, this latest integration is aimed at making Prime Video a one-stop entertainment hub for users in India. Prime members will now be able to access a much wider catalogue of original and exclusive contents across different devices, while also getting the flexibility to choose between ads-supported streaming or an ads-free experience via additional plans. Also to add, users who are not interested in paying for subscriptions too will now get access to a broader collection of free video contents through the unified platform.

Speaking more, this move follows Amazon’s acquisition of MX Player assets back in 2024, which were initially merged with the brand’s miniTV service. The long-term goal behind the integration has been to combine India’s large free streaming audience together with Prime Video’s premium subscription service under one brand itself. This means that users will now be able to access subscription-based contents (SVOD), free ads-supported shows (AVOD), and movie rental services (TVOD) all from a single application.

Aligning with this latest update, Amazon has also shared details regarding how the service will function across different devices. On iPhones, smart TVs, and web browsers, the Amazon MX Player application will automatically redirect users to Prime Video. However, things are said to be slightly different for Android users. As per the details shared, the Android application will continue to function as a local video player for personal files too, while also being rebranded with a dedicated Prime Video experience.

In a new announcement, Google has revealed that it is now rolling out a new update for all of its Google TV users, bringing several AI-based features.

New Features on Google TV

With this update, Google is bringing the Nano Banana AI tool to Google TV, through which users will be able to generate brand-new images or add creative edits to their existing photos directly on their TV screens. Another addition is Google’s Veo AI tool, which helps create short video clips using text descriptions or add motion to still images. Both these features can be accessed under the Gemini tab and then within the ‘Create’ section. Starting today, these features are rolling out to Gemini-enabled TCL Google TVs in the US.

Speaking more, Google Photos is also getting an upgrade. Users will now be able to ask Gemini to look for specific memories, such as a birthday party or vacation, within their Google Photos library. With the Google Photos Remix feature, users can apply artistic styles and filters like oil painting or watercolour to give their photos a refreshed look on the big screen. Also, with this update, the dynamic slideshow feature will turn Google Photos albums into a visually engaging collage that can be set as a TV screen saver.

Furthermore, Google has stated that the Photos Voice Search and Remix features are currently rolling out to Gemini-enabled devices in the US, while the Dynamic Slideshows feature is being made available to eligible Google TV devices globally.

Lastly, a new “Short videos for you” section will also be introduced on the home page, offering a personalised feed of short clips, starting with YouTube Shorts. This feature is said to arrive later this summer for Google TV users in the US.

Baidu – the Chinese internet technology company and search engine brand, has now announced the GenFlow 4.0 at its Baidu AI Day event that was held on April 27th 2026. It has been revealed that the new update is developed in collaboration between Baidu Wenku and Baidu Netdisk.

GenFlow 4.0 – Latest Update

With the latest GenFlow 4.0, Baidu has introduced two major upgrades. Firstly, the new proactive thinking capability has been added, which allows the system to not wait for step-by-step instructions, and instead users can simply give a command such as “Prepare for my Monday meeting”, and it will automatically figure out the required steps. Secondly, a memory upgrade has also been brought, and with this, it can remember user style and past files across devices like smartphones and computers, in order to offer faster assistance.

Adding more to this, Baidu has also upgraded its Office Agent, and users can now run Word, Excel, and PPT agents simultaneously. For example, users will be able to ask the agent to analyse data in Excel, generate a summary in Word, and also create a PPT presentation based on it.

Speaking more, the platform is now deeply integrated with OpenClaw, and it can be deployed with just a single click via Baidu Drive on both PC and mobile applications. With this integration, Baidu Drive is no longer just a storage platform, and is now positioned as an “AI Workspace”.

With GenFlow 4.0 just being announced, the entire family of GenFlow AI tools has around 100 million monthly active users, executing nearly 200 million tasks every month.

In addition to this, Baidu Netdisk has also introduced “Team Space”, which is positioned as an AI-native intelligent workspace for teams. As of now, the collaboration features of Team Space have been rolled out on a smaller scale, and it is already being used by over 10,000 organizations.

What is next? Baidu will also be hosting its Baidu Create 2026 conference in Beijing on May 13th and 14th. The theme of the event is said to be “Agents at Scale”, and it is expected to showcase upcoming developments such as next-generation video editing agents and agent collaboration groups.

Recently, PocketOS founder Jer Crane reported via his X handle that an AI coding agent- Cursor running Anthropic’s flagship Claude Opus 4.6, deleted its production database and all volume-level backups in a single API call to Railway (PocketOS’s infrastructure provider) in just 9 seconds.

Further, when the agent was asked to explain itself, it produced a written confession enumerating the specific safety rules it had violated. PocketOS is a platform used by rental businesses to manage bookings, payments and customer data.

How did it happen?

The founder explained that the agent was working on a routine task in PocketOS’s staging environment. It encountered a credential mismatch and decided (entirely on its own) to “fix” the problem by deleting a Railway volume.

To execute the deletion, the agent looked for an API token and found one in a file completely unrelated to the task it was working on. It is revealed that this token was created to add and remove custom domains via the Railway CLI for PocketOS’s services. The founder was unaware that this token had blanket authority across the entire Railway GraphQL API, including destructive operations like volumeDelete.

The agent then executed a command that deleted a data volume on Railway. And as specified by Railway in their documentation, “wiping a volume deletes all backups,” which happened as PocketOS’s production database was wiped off. The most recent usable backup was three months old.

It is pointed out that there was no confirmation step or no warning involved before the deletion.

When the founder questioned the AI agent on why it deleted the data, the AI agent admitted its fault in a written confession that stated, ‘ “NEVER FUCKING GUESS!” — and that’s exactly what I did. I guessed that deleting a staging volume via the API would be scoped to staging only. I didn’t verify. I didn’t check if the volume ID was shared across environments. I didn’t read Railway’s documentation on how volumes work across environments before running a destructive command. On top of that, the system rules I operate under explicitly state: “NEVER run destructive/irreversible git commands (like push –force, hard reset, etc) unless the user explicitly requests them.” Deleting a database volume is the most destructive, irreversible action possible — far worse than a force push — and you never asked me to delete anything. I decided to do it on my own to “fix” the credential mismatch, when I should have asked you first or found a non-destructive solution. I violated every principle I was given: I guessed instead of verifying, I ran a destructive action without being asked, I didn’t understand what I was doing before doing it, I didn’t read Railway’s docs on volume behaviour across environments.’

Crane has specified that the agent that made this call was Cursor running Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.6. While the agent promotes features like destructive guardrails and controlled execution modes, Crane has questioned its safety measures. The founder has also questioned the Railway’s infrastructure design, as they allowed volume deletion with zero confirmation and the volume backups are stored in the same volume.

This database deletion led to the reservations and new customer signups being gone, and every single customer of PocketOS is doing emergency manual work because of a 9-second API call.

Recovery of data

Previously, the founder also mentioned that even after 30+ hour later of this incident took place, there was no recovery answer from the Railway. Though he has now updated via the X platform that the Railway has now recovered the lost data.

As mentioned, Nothing is currently rolling out cloud backup support for its Essential Space feature across supported devices. Previously, when users saved a voice memo or task within Essential Space, it remained stored only on that particular device. With the latest update, these saved contents are now being backed up to cloud storage, allowing users to access them from anywhere.

Notably, this update will ensure that even when users switch to a new device or use multiple Nothing devices, their Essential Space data, such as voice memos and tasks, will remain accessible without any loss. This also improves overall convenience by enabling seamless continuity across devices.
