Volkswagen Taigun Facelift (2026): Features

The new Taigun features sharper lines, a sculpted bonnet, redesigned bumpers, strong dual shoulder lines, and striking alloy wheels. There is an illuminated Volkswagen logo, a light band across the grille, full LED headlamps with all-weather lights, and a new LED tail lamp signature with Welcome and Goodbye animation. Volkswagen has also introduced two new colours- Avocado Pearl and Steel Grey, along with existing shades such as Wild Cherry Red, Candy white, Deep black pearl and Reflex Silver.

On the interior side, it boasts a refreshed dashboard, dual-tone premium interiors, leatherette seats with piping, contrast stitching, GT embroidery on the seats and Laser red ambient lighting. In the new Taigun, front parking sensors, the 10-inch customizable digital cockpit, 25.6cm infotainment system, a new 26.03cm digital instrument cluster IDA voice command and the Panoramic sunroof come together.

It comes with 15+ new inbuilt apps ecosystem, 6-way electric & ventilated front seats, turn-by-turn navigation and real-time updates. For safety, you will get 6 airbags, electronic stability control, multi-collision braking, hill hold assist and brake disc wiping. It also retains its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating for both adult and child occupants. Features like smart touch Climatronic AC, and rear windshield wiper with intermittent control enhance the overall experience.

The turbo-petrol engine options include:

• 0-litre TSI engine producing 115hp and 178Nm; 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox/6-speed manual

At that time, only a slight glimpse of its front grille design was revealed, but now, in a new post shared on X, the brand has officially revealed more of its design. One of the shared images also points out the three colour variants that can be expected.

Via a post shared on X by Volkswagen India, images from the brand’s Pune plant have been revealed, showcasing the first look of the facelift edition of the Taigun. As per these images, a completely refreshed front design can be spotted, featuring reprofiled bumpers and a new LED light bar connecting the two front headlamp units. This same connected LED lighting setup can also be seen at the rear portion as well.

Speaking more, the side profile image reveals red-coloured brake calipers along with MRF-branded tyres. The same image also confirms three colour choices – Red, White, and a Military Green shade, while more options are expected as the previous model was offered in eight colour variants. Additionally, the GT branding can be spotted both on the front grille and on the front side fender.

As discussed earlier, the same 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine options are expected to be retained. However, for the 1.0-litre unit, an 8-speed torque converter transmission is likely to be introduced, which debuted with the Skoda Kushaq facelift (2026). It is also expected to feature a new digital instrument cluster, an improved infotainment system, updated upholstery, and two new alloy wheel designs for the standard and top variants.

While many may have high expectations, the chances of it offering ADAS or a 360-degree camera are currently less likely. That said, it remains to be seen whether this turns out to be true or not as the launch date nears.

As per what has been revealed via a new teaser shared on X by the brand itself, the Taigun facelift has been confirmed with its rear branding, along with the launch date of 9th April 2026. The same teaser also offers a glimpse of the front design of the upcoming model, revealing connected LED headlights and an illuminated Volkswagen logo. However, apart from these details, the brand has not yet shared any official technical specifications.

Comparing it with the recently launched Skoda Kushaq facelift in India, it is expected that the Taigun facelift will likely bring similar additions. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine may receive a new 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, replacing the previously offered 6-speed unit. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre variant is expected to continue with the 7-speed DSG gearbox, and it could also feature disc brakes on all four wheels.

Notably, the Skoda Kushaq 1.5-litre variant is now offered exclusively with an automatic transmission, and it remains to be seen whether Volkswagen will continue to offer a manual gearbox option for the Taigun or not.

While a few cosmetic changes can also be expected in the interior, for confirmed details we may have to wait just a few more days, as the launch date has now been announced.

Xiaomi launched the first-generation SU7 electric sedan last year in 2024, in China. Following that, Xiaomi has now launched the next-generation 2026 Xiaomi SU7 again in China.

Next-generation 2026 Xiaomi SU7 – Specs and Features

This 2026 Xiaomi SU7 brings significant upgrades to its powertrain and battery efficiency. A total of three variants have been launched: Standard, Pro, and Max, and all models are equipped with the Xiaomi HyperEngine V6S Plus and the Xiaomi “Dragon Armour” chassis.

In terms of range, the Pro version offers a China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) range of 902km. Second is the Max version, which offers a range of 835km, and lastly, the Standard variant (which some may call the base variant) also offers a CLTC range of 835km. However, the Max version offers the fastest charging in the trio, with Xiaomi claiming it can provide up to 670km of range, while the Pro variant can deliver up to 490km and the Standard up to 450km in just 15 minutes of charging.

The trio gets a new Xiaomi V6S Plus motor (for better performance), a Xiaomi-developed chassis (for improved stability), and double wishbone front and five-link rear independent suspension. Along with this, 4-piston fixed calipers in the front for better stopping power and 265mm wide rear tyres for better grip are standard across all variants. However, the Pro and Max variants also include a closed dual-chamber air spring system and CDC (Continuous Damping Control), which automatically adjusts the shock absorbers to match road conditions for a more comfortable ride.

The interior has also been improved, as the driver’s seat now offers 18-way adjustment, active side bolsters, and a 10-point massage function. Additionally, the front windshield has a triple-layer silver coating to keep the cabin cool and block UV rays. With the Max variant, you can also get an optional “Ultra-Quiet Cabin” package and a dual-zone smart dimming sunroof.

Safety Features

Speaking about safety, the car uses 2200MPa high-strength steel in the door beams and an “embedded roll cage” design to protect passengers during a crash. 9 airbags are also standard across all variants. Battery protection includes “hardcore” physical and thermal protection to prevent fires or damage, plus a new 1500MPa reinforced beam protects the bottom of the car from scrapes, and the battery pack has an upgraded “bulletproof coating” to resist impacts from road debris. Xiaomi also states that in order to meet strict 2027 safety standards, the door handles have been redesigned to allow passengers to get out of the vehicle in case of an emergency. These are:

• External Mechanical Handle: Automatically unlocks after a crash.
• Backup Power: Even if the car loses main power, the electronic locks have a backup power supply to work normally.
• Internal Emergency Pull: A mechanical handle inside the car that opens the door instantly, even if the central locks are stuck.

Pricing and Availability

The new 2026 Xiaomi SU7 has been launched in China only, and there is currently no confirmation regarding its global availability. You can check out the pricing and other details below.

When the first Xiaomi SU7 launched in 2024, it received 88,898 orders in its first 24 hours. The new model is already off to a faster start, with 15,000 bookings in just 34 minutes. Though Xiaomi didn’t give the bifurcation of the booking. At this rate, it looks like Xiaomi will easily beat its previous record.

Xiaomi’s Spring New Product Launch event is scheduled for 19^th March in the Chinese market at 19:00 (local time). During this launch event, the Chinese manufacturer will introduce its Xiaomi Book Pro 14, Xiaomi Watch S5 and the new generation Xiaomi SU7.

The company has already revealed numerous details about these upcoming products, and ahead of their debut tomorrow, some new features have been revealed.

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 will come with a remote power-off and wake-up function. The Xiaomi tablets can remotely control the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 with features like remote power-off and wake-up, one-click remote power-on for real-time computer status monitoring, online control, remote cross-platform document editing and file transfer. The laptop supports direct connection to Xiaomi car hotspots.

The Xiaomi Watch S5 can be deeply integrated with Xiaomi Auto and act as a wrist control center with features like navigation route reminder (system is linked to the car’s navigation system, providing vibration alerts at key points like when the traffic light turns green or when approaching a toll station), strong vibration reminder for driving safely (fatigue driving warning, speeding warning, and battery level warning) and support for the new generation SU7 and YU7 via the Xiaomi Auto app is also available. A new Xiaomi Smart Lock integration function has also been added, displaying the door lock camera feed and supporting quick answering and replying.

The new generation Xiaomi SU7 comes standard with the upgraded Xiaomi HAD assisted driving system and the XLA cognitive large model. The company has also integrated the “Xiaomi MiMo-Embodied” embodied base model to enhance its ability to understand and reason in complex scenarios. 2026 Renault Duster: Features

The 2026 Renault Duster brings a refreshed exterior design with a new front grille, sculpted front styling, high ground clearance, and a clear Duster identity through its iconic badging. It features full LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, signature front and rear LED lights, and a horizontal LED rear light bar. The SUV rides on 18″ “Adventure” black alloy wheels and offers roof bars with a load-bearing capacity of 50 kg. Ground clearance stands at 212 mm, while approach and departure angles are rated at 26.9° and 34.7° respectively, underlining its SUV-focused stance. Boot space is rated at 518 litres, and the tailgate is electrically powered.

Renault has also introduced several design and trim elements that are explicitly highlighted in the shared material, including a Himalayan-inspired side embellisher, iconic yellow door decal, Duster emblem with iconic yellow stitch, and mountain jade leatherette upholstery with Renault logo pattern. These elements are positioned as part of the model’s visual identity and cabin character.

On the safety and driver assistance front, Renault highlights its Human First Program branding, along with 17 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Features shown include adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function, 360° around view 3D camera, active emergency braking system, lane keep assist, and traffic sign recognition.

The connected services features shown include stolen vehicle tracking, remote lock and unlock, remote pre-conditioning to set cabin temperature, the ability to locate your car and share your location, remote tyre pressure check, and system updates via Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA).

Multiple powertrain options are shown for the 2026 Duster. The Turbo TCe 160 engine is listed with a maximum power output of 163 ps and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed DCT (wet clutch). The Turbo TCe 100 engine is shown with 100 ps of power and 160 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. A Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 option is also shown, based on a 1.8L petrol engine with a 1.4 kWh battery pack and a claim of up to 80% electric mode usage. The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi recently teased the launch of the Xiaomi Book Pro 14 and Xiaomi Watch S5 in its home country, and the company has already revealed a few details about these devices.

Today, Xiaomi has officially announced that it will be officially unveiling the Xiaomi Book Pro 14, Xiaomi Watch S5 and the new generation Xiaomi SU7 on 19^th March at 19:00 (local time in China) during the Xiaomi Spring New Product Launch event.

The company has also revealed the new features of these upcoming devices.

Xiaomi Book Pro 14, Xiaomi Watch S5 & New Generation Xiaomi SU7: New features teased

The Xiaomi Book Pro 14 features a 14.6-inch OLED display that offers 3.1K screen resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 1600 nits peak brightness. It features a 129cm² pressure-sensitive touch pad with support for quick gestures. It comes with dual hard drive bays with reserved expansion slots, a reserved M.2 2280 hard drive bay and supports up to 4TB capacity. All commonly used interfaces are available: 40Gbps Thunderbolt 4, 10Gbps full-featured USB-C, 5Gbps USB-A, HDMI 2.1 TDMS and 3.5mm audio jack.

The Xiaomi Watch S5 features a brand-new four-light, four-PD sensor array. The self-developed heart rate algorithm is upgraded to version 2.0, and heart rate accuracy is as high as 94%. The new Sleep Algorithm 2.0 improves sleep onset and wake-up accuracy by 11%. The motion positioning accuracy is improved by 33% with the new dual-frequency GNSS satellite positioning chip and support for satellite search and positioning for 5 major galaxy systems: BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS.

The smartwatch supports multi-dimensional health monitoring, including heart rate, stress and women’s health, while there is also support for 150+ sports modes. It is equipped with an 815mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery and offers 21-day battery life in Bluetooth usage and 14-day battery life in eSIM usage.

Coming to the new generation Xiaomi SU7, the standard CLTC has a range of 720km, the Pro version of the CLTC has a range of 902km, and the Max version of the CLTC has a range of 835km.

All models feature fast charging and utilise a silicon-carbon high-voltage platform:

• Standard version: Peak voltage 752V, 16-minute charging provides up to 450km of range, maximum charging rate is 3.5C.
• Pro version: Peak voltage 752V, 15-minute charging provides up to 490km of range, maximum charging rate is 3.5C.
• Max version: Peak voltage 897V, 15-minute charging provides up to 670km of range, maximum charging rate is 5.2C.

The new generation SU7 is equipped with V6s Plus Super Motor that increases the maximum speed to 22,000 rpm, and the overall efficiency of the electric drive CLTC is improved by 15%. The Max version comes with a peak power of 288 kW, and the Standard/Pro version comes with a peak power of 235 kW.

The entire range comes with 265mm wide rear tyres. All models come standard with a front double wishbone, rear five-link independent suspension and front four-piston fixed callipers. The SU7 comes with LiDAR and drive assistance features- 700 TOPS of computing power for assisted driving, 40mm wave radar and Xiaomi HAD (Xiaomi Driver Assistance). The 2200MPa Xiaomi super-strong steel is standard across the entire range.

The battery safety upgrade is also available for the new generation SU7: high-voltage insulation protection with up to 17 layers, the bottom of the battery pack has been upgraded with a bulletproof coating, and a new 1500MPa scratch-resistant crossbeam has been added to the front of the chassis.

For safety, there are 9 airbags and triple-redundant safety door handles across the entire range. There is silent double-layered laminated glass, upgraded seat comfort, top-tier sun protectiob and heat-insulating glass.

The new generation SU7 will be available in 9 exterior colours, 5 interior colours and 6 wheel designs.

Due to the ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, there have been supply chain disruptions and higher logistics costs in India’s passenger vehicle industry. It was assumed that these reasons could affect the sales of cars in the Indian market.

A recent report by The Economic Times reveals that the car sales in India are projected to reach 4.7 million units this fiscal year (FY26), fueled by robust domestic demand. It is said that volumes could have been higher if freight bottlenecks and higher transportation costs had not constrained dispatches from factories in the closing month of FY26.

According to dealers across India, there have been strong bookings ahead of the fiscal year-end, though the inventories have tightened due to slower dispatches from automobile manufacturers. But amid these restrictions, with domestic demand holding firm and supply conditions expected to stabilise, the industry is assumed to cross the 5 million annual sales mark in FY27.

As per an automobile manufacturer, if the freight rates and logistics costs remain high, wholesale could see some dip even though retail demand remains intact. Meanwhile, as per a dealer, a steady supply is becoming a challenge as this month the supply from manufacturers is down by about 10-15%.

In such situations, the companies say that the strength of domestic demand remains the industry’s primary growth driver.

The report further mentioned that Maruti Suzuki recently revealed that it is closely tracking developments in the Middle East, Mahindra & Mahindra saw an increase in domestic SUV sales in February (reflecting sustained demand for sport-utility vehicles), and Tata Motors also reported strong momentum in passenger vehicle sales driven by demand for SUV and electric vehicle portfolio.
