WhatsApp beta version 2.22.17.22 now has a new security feature called Login Approval

A new feature that WhatsApp is allegedly developing has been found by the features tracker WABetanfo. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta version 2.22.17.22 now has a new security feature called Login Approval. As its name suggests, Login Approval warns users via the WhatsApp app if someone tries to get into their account using a different device. In addition, access to the login would only be possible when the request had been approved. Essentially, the feature serves as built-in two-factor authentication. However, it would add a degree of security to users’ WhatsApp accounts. Although the feature is still under development, it might become universally accessible in a later release.

Once the feature is available, it will be less likely that WhatsApp accounts will be accessed without permission. As seen in the screenshots provided by the magazine, the notice also includes the time of the login attempt. The fact that screenshots of the feature have already surfaced online suggests that WhatsApp may launch the feature soon, even though it might take some time.

On the instant messaging platform WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, another feature is currently being rolled out for some beta testers. The operation is referred to as Admin Delete. A WABetaInfo article claims that WhatsApp is making the Admin Delete feature available to some of its Android beta users who are using version 2.22.17.12. The feature assists group administrators in controlling the conversation occurring in a WhatsApp group. Remember that since it was discovered for the first time last year, the functionality has been under development. Currently, only a select number of beta users can access it.

Administrators of the group can use this feature to delete a message sent by any participant on behalf of the entire group. When the functionality is present, admins will see the “remove for everyone” option when pressing and holding a message. Everyone who took part may also be able to observe that the administrator deleted a message for everyone. The report also states that more users will have access to the Admin Delete capability in the coming days.
